A police dog bit and subdued a man who barricaded himself in the garage of a woman who had a protective order against him, the Lake County sheriff’s office said Tuesday.
Police said the man, Richard C. Huhn, 53, of the same address, refused to exit the garage and placed objects in front of the service door. Officers told Huhn that the canine Dax would be released in he refused to surrender.Officers used a ramming device to force open the door, and Dax entered. The dog found Huhn under a bench, and Dax subdued him by biting him on the leg, police said.
Huhn was taken to a hospital for treatment of the bite wound. He will be charged with violating an order of protection with a prior conviction, police said
