The firearm has been seized by police.
cousins Deejay Crome, 10, and Billy Harris, 12, discovered the firearm while magnet fishing in the Forth and Clyde Canal in Kirkintilloch on Sunday, February 5.
Police have now confirmed they seized the gun on Monday, February 6 after the discovery was reported.Officers said they believe the gun is"historic" and does not pose any risk to the public.spokesperson said:"We were made aware of a firearm recovered from the Forth and Clyde Canal in Kirkintilloch on Monday, February 6."The firearm has been seized by police and will be subject to further analysis.
Post moderation is undertaken full-time 9am-6pm on weekdays, and on a part-time basis outwith those hours.
