Authorities were searching Friday morning for a teenage boy who escaped from juvenile hall in Orange County overnight.

The teen, identified as 15-year-old Ike Souzer, escaped from the detention center at 331 The City Drive in Orange shortly after midnight, an Orange County Sheriff’s Department spokeswoman said.Souzer has been in custody since 2017, though details of the crime he is accused of were not immediately available.
Juvenile hall is a 434-bed institution that houses boys and girls — typically between the ages of 12 and 18 — who are being detained pending juvenile court hearings.
