The latest from Westminster as Rishi Sunak is poised to set out a weakening of the government's green policies in a Downing Street speech this afternoon.
We've been talking a lot in the last 24 hours about Rishi Sunak being set to roll back policies designed to bring the UK to net zero.
This means that using fossil fuels and continuing other activities is acceptable within the framework - as long as just as many carbon emissions are being removed. Former prime minister Boris Johnson has just issued a statement intervening in the row over net zero. "Business and industry - such as motor manufacturing - are rightly making vast investments in these new technologies.
Sir Jacob Rees-Mogg, an ardent supporter of Boris Johnson and a minister in his cabinet, has labelled him a"net zero zealot" and reiterated his support for watering down climate policies. "And I think it's absolutely right. I could not be more supportive of what the prime minister is doing under these circumstances."
