A Portage man is charged with six felonies, including two counts of rape, for allegedly raping a 14-year-old girl earlier this year, according to court documents.
Wayne Roberts, 43, also is charged with two felony counts of attempted sexual battery; one felony count each of sexual misconduct with a minor and contributing to the delinquency of a minor; and a misdemeanor count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.Deputies with the Porter County Sheriff’s Department took Roberts into custody Monday, according to jail records. Online court records do not yet reflect an initial hearing date.
According to charging documents, the alleged crimes took place in February and March of this year while the girl was staying at Roberts’ home. The girl also alleged that Roberts purchased alcohol for her and an acquaintance while she was at his home and smoked marijuana with them as well.
