The women had gathered in the side room of the commissioners chambers to protest a draft resolution being considered by the Porter County Board of Commissioners regarding mandatory rental policy provisions that was prompted by aCommissioners had scheduled the meeting to discuss the policy but Commissioners President Jim Biggs, R-North, couldn’t make it so it was abruptly rescheduled.
The resolution has two parts: one, “For any event that is open to general public admittance and serves alcohol,” and the second, “For all events: Conduct and dress code.
The Nasty Women took particular umbrage with the concept of anyone passing judgment on what constitutes “family friendly” and pointed out the advertising of upcoming dwarf wrestling at the Porter County Fair. “As a mother of a child with dwarfism I don’t find that offensive at all,” Valparaiso resident Claudia Chastin said deadpan.
