Following the loss of Roe v. Wade abortion protection in the US, there have been concerns that data from reproductive health apps could be used against women - and, according to Mozilla, those concerns may have good grounds.

Some apps also asked users to provide information on their work experience, education, hobbies, and interests.

Only one app comes in for Mozilla's approval: Euki, which stores data locally on users' devices, and has a two-entry passcode requirement, first when opening the app, and again when accessing data. It even includes a fail-safe functionality that can be triggered by users in cases of coercion, making it respond by showing false data.

"This is scary when even the baseline security is shaky in apps used by millions of women post-Roe vs Wade."
