Influencer Sofia Amorim, 22, and her unborn baby reportedly died after suffering multiple organ failure, despite the efforts of doctors to save her life
A 22-year-old influencer who was seven months pregnant has tragically died from the viral mosquito-borne illness dengue fever in Brazil.
Sofia had more than 6,000 followers on social media, and regularly shared beauty content as well as glamorous snaps of her and her pregnant belly. But since the tragic announcement of her death, posts have been flooded with comments from people shocked by her premature death. They added: "The baby had already died in her belly in the early hours of the morning, they didn’t deliver her immediately because her platelets were very low, and she could have lost too much blood. The caesarean section was the last resort to try to save her life."
A third added: "So sad, my God. As a mother, I can't imagine what her mother and the baby's grandmother are going through right now.." According to local media reports, influencer Sofia first began to feel ill on March 22, and just four days later medics confirmed she had contracted dengue fever.
