Hughes' former club to play in his testimonial game ahead of new season
Jeff Hughes says he will "never take for granted" how lucky he was to play for some great clubs during his career as Crystal Palace were confirmed as the opponents for his testimonial game. The Premier League outfit's visit to Inver Park on Saturday 3 August is the headline event for Hughes' benefit year after he brought the curtain down on his playing career with Larne at the end of the 2022/23 season.
“I am delighted that we are going to be able to bring a club which has the stature of Crystal Palace across to Inver Park in August for my testimonial game," said Hughes. "I have no doubt that it will be a fantastic day for myself and my family, but also the supporters too.
