An observation: I’ve seen more pointed-toe boots than usual this year. Specifically, slightly weathered, vintage knee-highs, rendered in faux snakeskin or aged leather. Throughout summer, I saw people walking through parks wearing them with miniskirts and boho dresses, while autumn made way for pointed-toe boots styled with baggy jeans and trousers. Recently, I’ve been wearing this pair from Aeyde with vintage pinstriped trousers and a skater tee from Yardsale non-stop.
Balenciaga’s super-sharp Knife boots are perhaps some of the most recognisable pointed boots of the last decade, first seen at Demna’s inaugural autumn/winter 2016 Balenciaga collection, while Phoebe Philo conjured a selection of styles during her tenure at Céline, many of which are still in demand , including sock-like versions for spring/summer 2018.
