There are no signs of life at Roper Hall

Roper Hall, a popular pub with students is often seen with doors open, lights on and the dull thrum of music coming through. However, the cheap and cheerful boozer appears dark and empty with signs indicating a permanent closure.

LancsLive visited the pub on Friargate on Wednesday afternoon and saw no signs of business running at a time when they are usually open. Doors appear to be locked and the grimy windows offer little view inside the seemingly empty premises. At one of the two entrances, a sign has been placed in the window. The white board indicates that the building has been secured by VPS Services suggesting that the premises has been vacated.

No statements have been issued on the pub's social media pages to offer an explanation of the closure. The pub has not confirmed to its punters whether or not it will be back anytime soon. Roper Hall advertised one of its latest events this month. The pub posted a booking link for all Mother's Day bookings on March 19. On the website, there is also mention of their Easter and Bank Holiday events.

LancsLive attempted to book a table in the pub via the website, but it no longer allows for any bookings to be made.
