According to planning papers, the applicant sought the green light to build a single storey extension to suit mid-level only.
South Ayrshire Council has booted out proposals to build an extension onto the side of a middle floor flat in Prestwick .
The extension would be raised to first floor level via steel posts. Some objectors claimed the extension would be “out of character” with the existing building and wider locale, while others claimed it would cause a loss of view.Get all the local news in your area – plus features, football news and the latest on the coronavirus crisis – at your fingertips 24/7.
In refusing the application council papers said: “It is considered that the proposed extension would have a detrimental impact on the character of the building, creating an imbalance to what is currently a symmetrical detached property, and also be finished in materials which do not match or complement the existing property.
