Why a Predator cameo is wrong for Prey 2.

Trachtenberg hit the mark directing the outstanding sci-fi action movie Prey, which served as a prequel to Predator's mainline film series and the seventh installment in the overall franchise.
Prey 2 Really Doesn't Need Arnold Schwarzenegger Speaking with Variety, Trachtenberg addressed the possibility of bringing Schwarzenegger back to reprise his role as the original Predator movie's titular character, Dutch. Fans can recall Schwarzenegger's full throttle performance as the leader of a private military team who defended his regent from the lethal Yautja creature while simultaneously capturing the hearts of audience members that wanted to see him prevail.
In spite of Schwarzenegger's iconic status within the Predator franchise, Prey 2 really doesn't need Schwarzenegger nor the backslide into Dutch's narrative. Trachtenberg understands how powerful Schwarzeneggar/Dutch's image could be, especially in its nostalgic callback to the original film, but he misunderstands the appeal of the prequel series. Prey 2 should, in fact, continue making its own mark in the franchise and leave the idea of Schwarzenegger's role reprisal behind.
Within an entirely new time period and setting and with an exceptional leading lady spearheading the cast as Naru , Prey reimagined Predator's best characteristics. Although Prey catered to audiences with a bit of Predator nostalgia, it did so in a way that made the prequel film still feel unique while still engaging longtime franchise fans.
