Princess Anne has been known for laying down strict rules for her children, Zara Tindall and Peter Phillips, during their time on the Royal balcony. The Queen 's only daughter made sure they were on their best behaviour when joining her to celebrate the Queen's official birthday at Buckingham Palace.
Remembering his experiences in an ITV documentary aired for Princess Anne's 70th birthday in 2020, he shared: "You then get a clip round the ear and say right, 'behave yourself, you know, we're going out on the balcony,'" and humorously cautioned, "Don't pick your nose and you know, don't yawn." Archival video from Buckingham Palace portrays Princess Anne, who is celebrating her 74th birthday on Wednesday, August 14, as being quite the authoritarian figure on the well-known balcony. A memorable occurrence was in 1987 when she was observed trying to settle an animated four year old Prince William amidst a Royal Air Force flyover, reports Gloucestershire Live.
