West Yorkshire Fire responded to the fire on Friday morning
West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue rushed to a fire in a flat in Burmantofts on Friday after the blaze in a fourth floor flat was reported by a concerned neighbour. One person was treated for smoke inhalation at the scene.
Firefighters were called shortly after 11.45 on Friday to the block of flats in Appleton Way, Burmantofts, Leeds, and within 45 minutes the fire had been extinguished.A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue service said: "We received a call from a member of the public at 11:45am regarding smoke coming from a neighbour’s flat on the fourth floor in a high rise bock of flats on Appleton Way in Leeds.
"Firefighters from Killingbeck were on the scene within six minutes and the fire was extinguished by 12:19. "Colleagues from the Fire Investigation Team are attempting to ascertain the cause of the fire. One person was treated at the scene by Yorkshire Ambulance, for smoke inhalation."
