ByCLEVELAND, Ohio – Produce Perks at the West Side Market are back for a second year. They provide a limited number of TANF eligible families with $240 in coupons for free fruits and vegetables at the West Side Market. Coupons are good until June 30, only at the market.
Last year, program participants came from every ward in the city with 46 percent of Cleveland program participants from East Side neighborhoods and 54 percent from West Side neighborhoods. In 2022, $35,000 in coupons was distributed to 265 eligible families. These West Side Market shoppers redeemed 95 percent of the coupons. This compares favorably to the state average redemption rate of 54 percent.
