Man United centre-back Jonny Evans starred as the Reds ended their run of three straight losses at Burnley
Garth Crooks has defended Jonny Evans after some Arsenal fans mocked him for his performance in Manchester United's 3-1 defeat to the Gunners, adding that he's "not entirely sure what Arsenal fans know about top-class centre-backs anyway".
The defender also had a hand in the only goal of the game as he provided an exceptional assist for Bruno Fernandes' volley in first-half stoppage time. Evans' performance led to him being named in the BBC's team of the week by Crooks.READ MORE: Fernandes' post-match gesture shows why he is captain "Well, the point of view couldn't have been further from the truth. Evans was the star performer against Burnley.
Fernandes was also named in the team of the week and Crooks added how important it was for the Reds to secure three points at Turf Moor. "I was keen to see how United might react after their Champions League defeat in midweek against Bayern Munich," he added.
