The school was given the lowest possible rating by Ofsted inspectors
A school was given the lowest possible rating by Ofsted after pupils were found to be 'playing catch up' and 'unprepared for the future'. St Michael's Church of England High School in Crosby said they are 'disappointed' with their latest Ofsted report but fully accept its finding and have committed to learning from the recommendations.
Inspectors said this means pupils are entering Year 10 with 'many deficits in their knowledge' and are 'playing catch up' from the outset of their learning journey. Ofsted also reported weaknesses in the design of the curriculum for sixth form students which left them 'unprepared for their future'. The report adds: 'This is compounded further in this year group because teachers do not do enough to help pupils overcome gaps in their learning.
