Nottingham bus services will be disrupted as roadworks continue to repair a damaged bridge near the Queen's Medical Centre. A lorry carrying an excavator damaged the northern bridge on Derby Road where the A52 meets the A6154 Middleton Boulevard back in 2018.
National Highways is now replacing a damaged beam and re-waterproofing the bridge, with its project set to last until summer 2025. The latest overnight closures have now been confirmed as part of the project by Nottingham City Transport . The bus operator says that roadworks will be taking place between the Priory Island and QMC island both tonight and tomorrow evening (Thursday, August 22, between 8pm and 6am the following morning in both cases.NCT said: "34C, N34, 35 and 36 will divert towards Nottingham. Services will divert via University Boulevard, Beeston Road, Abbey Street and Gregory Street.
"Stops along Woodside Road, Derby Road, including QMC Main Entrance, Hillside and Triumph Road cannot be served during these closures." Work to repair the bridge started on July 8.
