A monument to honour the life and legacy of the late Queen Elizabeth II will be finally unveiled in St James's Park in London, it can be revealed
A new monument commemorating the life and enduring legacy of the late Queen Elizabeth II is set to be a landmark feature in St James's Park, London.
Lord Robin Janvrin, who previously served as the Queen's private secretary, has taken the lead as chairman of a special committee. This committee, in collaboration with the UK Government and the Royal Household, has been instrumental in bringing the historic tribute to fruition. Upon his appointment last year, Lord Janvrin expressed great honour in his role, noting the challenge in encapsulating Her Late Majesty's remarkable contribution to Britain over her lengthy reign: "It is an honour to be asked to chair the Queen Elizabeth memorial committee. It will be a unique challenge to try to capture for future generations Her Late Majesty's extraordinary contribution to our national life throughout her very long reign", reports the Mirror.
The statue was commissioned and unveiled by her grandson, King George V, in 1911. Another Queen is commemorated along The Mall, Elizabeth, the Queen Mother which was unveiled in 2009.
