The Queens borough president's office is planting $100,000 worth of trees around the borough, and wants residents to weigh in on where they should go. JohnBDias has the story:
"Trees are not a one-time investment. It is a long-term investment in your community, which means communities should not feel like this is something the city does but it is a partnership," Brezler said."I would definitely say parks and more on the sidewalks," College Point resident Jurg Stiger said.If all goes according to schedule, most of the trees will start to get planted in the spring of 2023.
The funding is part of the Million More Tree initiative, which is an effort to plant 1 million trees across the city by 2030.
