Stuart Kettlewell's side couldn't cope with Rangers at Hampden
Battling Motherwell put up a fight but were still rolled over by resurgent Rangers on their Hampden Park 'home' debut.
Dessers did continue his scoring form from midweek, however, as he put Rangers ahead in 13 minutes, but that was cancelled out five minutes later by Propper's own goal. His Motherwell counterpart Stuart Kettlewell made three changes to the side that drew 0-0 with Ross County last weekend. Captain Paul McGinn, Steve Seddon and Apostolos Stamatelopoulos came in for injured Shane Blaney, Zach Robinson and Moses Ebiye, the latter two of whom were on the bench.
Their lead lasted just five minutes before Steve Seddon's harmless-looking cross from the left was slid into the far post corner by Robin Propper, under no pressure. Sub Zach Robinson got a sight of goal from Andy Hallliday's free kick on the left in 55 minutes, but shot wildly past the right post.
