The Light Blues' home ground is set to be out of action in August amid delays to improvement work in the Copland Road stand.
Rangers' home fixtures will not be reversed to away games during the Ibrox lockout at the start of the campaign as the SPFL prepare to unveil the fixture list on Thursday.
The Light Blues announced that they are looking at options for a temporary home with Ibrox likely to be out of action for the first month of the 2024/25 season. Improvement works on the Copland Road stand are running behind schedule due to an issue with the delivery of materials. That has left Rangers chiefs with a major headache for the start of the Scottish Premiership campaign - as well as the crucial Champions League qualifiers.
However, Record Sport understands that Rangers will still be expected to host home fixtures during the early weeks of the season amid the ongoing issues. Any formal discussions with the SPFL around potential switches or alternative venues can only take place once the fixture list has been unveiled - meaning it is very unlikely that Rangers will be handed a full card of away matches.
Rangers have remained in talks with the league over the stadium and this is expected to continue when the full fixture list is revealed. With Ibrox potentially out of action for the entire month of August the club will anticipate hosting either one or two Premiership games during this time. During the early weeks of last season, Rangers only had one game at Ibrox in August as they ran out 4-0 winners against Livingston. Champions League qualifiers and a potential home tie in the Viaplay Cup may also have to be moved to an alternative location.
