Rangers got the job done last night as they defeated Servette to book their spot in the Champions League qualifying play-off round.
With Rangers now in the play-off, they are guaranteed a mega payout. Whoever loses in the play-off still receives £3million, as well as a windfall payment for dropping out Europe's elite competition. So Rangers have already made a major financial gain by edging past Servette, but if they can go one step further and defeat PSV then they are looking at even more.
In total that is an additional total of £14.4million up for grabs before the tournament enters the knockout stages.Meanwhile, Rangers manager Michael Beale praised his side for digging deep and finding the answers in Switzerland after James Tavernier’s equaliser sent them into the Champions League play-offs.
