The season's Old Firm doesn't present too many selection dilemmas for Michael Beale
Rangers head into the season's first Old Firm coming off the back of their PSV drubbing, but ready to respond domestically.
Manager Michael Beale knows that his side must show a strong response in front of the Ibrox crowd and lay down an early-season marker against their title rivals. The Rangers boss know their Europa League group stage opponents after that draw was made but Scottish Premiership success is the bread and butter for both sides and this clash could already prove crucial.
Gers are almost at full strength heading into the lunchtime kick-off against Brendan Rodgers ' side, with a few stars touch and go. Game-time decisions will be made on Kieran Dowell as he returns from a knee issue whilst Kemar Roofe and Tom Lawrence may make the matchday squad if they are passed fit. There was also a scare over Borna Barisic's fitness prior to the game.
Fears over the full-back's fitness were allayed by the gaffer though. Beale said: "Barisic will be fine for the weekend after a scan. Roofe and Lawrence both in a fantastic place and in the squad. Dowell has the slight issue with his knee he is recovering from so will need to wait and see on that one."
A start for Rabbi Matondo may also be o the cards as he continues his redemption ark in Govan while Danilo may have a chance of pipping Dessers to a starting spot.
