She enjoyed a huge amount of Olympic success in the pool
Now a familiar face in BBC Olympic Commentary, Rebecca Adlington is still Britain’s most successful female Olympic Swimmer, having won four medals across two Olympic Games.
After her Olympic victory, Adlington was welcomed back to Mansfield to crowds of thousands applauding her as she rode through the streets on an open-top bus. This was followed by a ceremony in Mansfield Hall. Recalling her experience, she said: "I was incredibly privileged to have been part of Team GB at our home Olympic Games. To experience the whole atmosphere, spirit and camaraderie of London is something I will never forget."
