'Rebecca' Trailer: LilyJames and ArmieHammer are caught in a ghostly love triangle
RebeccaA modern take on the 1938 Gothic novel of the same name by Daphne du Maurier, the film sees a passionate love affair quickly spiral into a dark mystery when young newlywed Mrs. de Winter arrives at the English coast family estate of her soon-to-be-husband, Maxim de Winter .
With the help of Mrs. Danvers' passive-aggressive welcome, the new Mrs. de Winter finds herself unexpectedly on the outside of her husband's life as she tries to find her place in the household and among a staff still somewhat attached to Maxim's dead wife. It's made all the worse by the fact that Maxim won't open up to her about his past.
Mrs. de Winter is eventually told that an accident is behind Rebecca's death, but the more she seemingly learns about her husband's former love, the more out of control she begins to feel. After Mrs. Danvers teases that Rebecca is"still in the house," she viciously wonders to the new Mrs. de Winter's face,"what she's thinking about you, taking her husband, using her name.
