More than 1,100 Palestinians had been killed and nearly 5,400 in Israeli airstrikes, according to the Gaza Health Ministry. Burchett said he did not think the absence of a House speaker indicates the U.S. won’t be able to support Israel. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said the U.S. will be "rapidly providing" additional equipment and resources to the Israel Defense Forces . The secretary also said a small group of U.S. special operations forces was working with the IDF.
