Reports of man assaulted by 'group of males wearing balaclavas' as police hunt suspects
A man was reportedly assaulted by a 'group of males wearing balaclavas' in Wigan on Sunday afternoon . Emergency services were called to the incident near Parson's Meadow in the Poolstock area shortly after 1.30pm.
Posts on social media suggested that a police helicopter was also circling the area following the reported attack as officers attempted to hunt the offenders.However, despite a search of the area, beside Poolstock Brook, police are still trying to trace the suspects and the victim as part of their ongoing investigations.
Detective Superintendent Simon Hurst of GMP’s Wigan District, said: “We are working hard to establish where the offenders and victim are now and the circumstances leading up to this incident, in order to piece together a thorough timeline of events.
