PD Zola sniffed out the suspects
Three people were arrested on suspicion of possession of drugs during a festive night out in the Ribble Valley .
Officers from the Special Constabulary, Student Development Unit, Neighbourhood Policing Team and Licensing, accompanied PC April Butcher and Police Dog Zola on an operation in the Ribble Valley to identify those who may be in possession of drugs whilst in the pubs and clubs in the Valley. Sergeant Steve Dundon, of East Police Licensing said: "We visited both Clitheroe and Whalley and it was great to see so many people having a great festive night out with friends, family and work colleagues.
"Unfortunately, whilst most people were just out to have a few drinks and a dance, the Officers and Zola did find some who clearly felt the need to take drugs to have a good night out. Three individuals have been dealt with for possession of Class A and Class B drugs and Officers also dealt with an assault and several others, who had had far too much to drink, were directed out of the area.
"We want everyone to have a great time whilst out socialising over the festive period, but it is unacceptable to be taking drugs in the pubs and clubs of our towns and we will take robust and positive action against any people we find in possession of illegal substances.
