As part of the Prime Minister's plans if he wins the next election, GPs won't be able to give out sick notes, benefits will be removed from people after a year, and people will be made to work more to receive in work benefits.
The PM claimed there was a ‘worrying’ proportion of young workers off sick ‘I’m signing you off work for two weeks’. As soon as my GP had written the note to my manager, I felt a huge sense of relief.
