The Prime Minister blamed Labour for the delays to the scheme
The first flight carrying asylum seekers to Rwanda will leave in 10 to 12 weeks, Rishi Sunak has said as he promises that, “no ifs, no buts”, the scheme will be up and running by July.
Mr Sunak said: “Enough is enough. No more prevarication, no more delay. Parliament will sit there tonight and vote no matter how late it goes. No ifs, no buts. These flights are going to Rwanda.” He told a Downing Street press conference: “The first flight will leave in 10 to 12 weeks. Now of course that is later than we wanted.
