Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) responds to the Kyle Rittenhouse verdict:
The parents of Anthony Huber, one of the men fatally shot by Rittenhouse,they’re “heartbroken and angry,” and fear the verdict “sends the unacceptable message that armed civilians can show up in any town, incite violence, and then use the danger they have created to justify shooting people in the street.”
Benjamin Crump — an attorney representing the family of Jacob Blake, a Black Kenosha resident whose shooting at the hands of local police sparked last year’s protests —Likewise, Blake’s uncle Justin Blake told the , “I don’t know how they came to the final conclusion that he’s innocent, but this is why African Americans say the whole damn system is guilty.”
