Riverdale Made The Right Choice To Focus On Its Core Themes Instead Despite what the above synopsis implies, Riverdale was always supposed to be the characters and their relationships. As such, it made sense for the finale to slow down and focus on these things before bringing it to a close. In this regard, Riverdale’s quad relationship was a masterstroke, since it offered a surprising solution that satisfied fans of every potential character pairing.
