It’s time for Flatline to join the Bat-Family.

Spoilers ahead for Batman and Robin #8!The Bat-Family is getting a bit bigger now that Robin's girlfriend has proved she belongs with the famous Gotham-based team. After months apart, Damian's love interest Nika, aka Flatline, is back in his life and out to discover a new path for herself.
Who is Flatline and Why is She in Gotham? Close Flatline first came into Robin’s life when Damian temporarily left his role as Batman’s sidekick and went on a journey to find himself. Damian ventured to Lazarus Island, where he competed in a fighting tournament, in which Flatline was also competing in. The two's introduction was a bit rocky as their first meeting ended with Flatline tearing Robin’s heart out.
Flatline Surprises Robin and Brings Her Sister to Justice In Batman and Robin #8 by Joshua Williamson, Nikola Čižmešija, Rex Lokus, and Dave Sharpe, Mila reveals that she discovered that her and Nika’s grandfather was a gunrunner and that she decided to follow in his footsteps. Mila also reveals that she’s come to Gotham specifically to plunder weapons apprehended by Gotham’s criminals like Mister Freeze and Joker and sell them on the international market.
Flatline Would Be a Great Addition to the Bat-Family While Flatline’s plan involved a bit of trickery and subversion, it was all in the name of making sure she got her sister out of the criminal life safely. Nika also managed to bring the rest of the smugglers to justice. Could she have just as easily told Damian about her plans? Absolutely. But Flatline’s deceit managed to throw suspicion off her and give Nika ample opportunity to ambush Mila with the freeze gun.
