Morant had his moments, flashing the spectacular athleticism that led Rockets coach Stephen Silas to call him “one of the 10 best players in the NBA.” But Jaren Jackson Jr., scoring a season-high 37 points, had carried the Grizzlies. “It meant a lot,” Morant said. “I’m thankful and grateful to everybody for their support during this time. It definitely helped me a lot. It definitely helped me feel a little better, ease everything that’s going on. It felt good to be back.” “Phenomenal reception, just walking to the scorers’ table,” Grizzlies coach Taylor Jenkins said. “Really excited for him; really excited for our fans that welcomed him back. “I went there to counseling to learn how to manage stress,” Morant said after practice Tuesday. “Cope with stress in a positive way, instead of ways I’ve tried to deal with it before that caused me to make mistakes.”
