Daniel Farke’s Leeds United press conference took place at Thorp Arch this afternoon as he looked ahead to Saturday’s match with Plymouth Argyle
. It had been six days since that stellar 1-0 win over Leicester City at King Power Stadium in the Championship, where the Whites beat the league leaders with a goal from Georginio Rutter
The pain became too much to bear after the Leicester win and the decision was made to go ahead with the surgery he needs to make things better. It seems wise to go with it now given lowly Plymouth Argyle visit on Saturday before a 13-day break in the fixture calendar. Farke could not have been more emphatic or reassuring for the Leeds faithful on the subject. He said: “Joe will stay with us. He’s an important player for my plans and it's important we have stability and not uncertainty, so he will stay with us.”
“You can see it by the performance of the players and even if they're not spending each and every minute on the pitch when I see, for example, how much he was celebrating in the last home game after Cree was scoring goals, although he was just a substitute,” he said.
