WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell indicated Tuesday that league investigators could talk to more of Deshaun Watson’s 24 accusers and that there’s no timeframe for a possible suspension under the league’s Personal Conduct Policy.
“Our people are working on it,’’ Goodell said during his wrap-up press conference at the NFL Annual Meeting. “Obviously, these are serious charges, so we’re looking at this seriously. We now have obviously at least resolution from the criminal side of it. Obviously, there’s some civil charges that are going on.
Goodell indicated that Friel and her team will determine whether to interview more of the 24 massage therapists who have accused Watson of either sexual assault or harassment -- 22 of whom have civil suits pending. So far, they’ve spoken to 10. He also said Friel will decide whether to bring Watson to New York to be interviewed.
He said the volume of accusations against Watson will factor into the decision, and that they’ll due as much diligence on all of them as possible.
