As for London, the ESPN report said there’s “no momentum’’ towards moving a Super Bowl there, but a source told the network, “Absolutely, it would make sense.’’ “I think that is not out of the question,’’ Goodell said. “But at the end of the day, I think right now our formula will stay the same about playing in cities that have franchises.”
If the league went ahead with plans for a Super Bowl in Europe, it would have to deal with the time difference. Games played there during the regular season have typically been scheduled for 2:30 p.m. local time, which is 9:30 a.m. ET.
