Pitching coach Carl Willis has been talking to Tanner Bibee after he was called for two balks in a 2-1 loss to the Angels on Sept. 10.
Bibee, a rookie of the year candidate, was facing the Rangers for the second time this season. On July 16, he held them to two runs on six hits in a five-inning no-decision. Bibee had six strikeouts, but the Guards lost, 6-5.Josh Naylor went into Saturday’s game needing nine RBI to reach 100 for the first time in his career.
“If I’m being honest, I don’t really seek individual awards,” said Naylor. “It’s great, don’t get me wrong. It’s awesome to get 100 RBI, hit .300, hit 40 homers. . .whatever it is. “But I want to win every day. If I get 100 RBI, it’s a blessing. If I don’t, I don’t. I want to win. I want to do whatever it takes to win every day. That’s all I can say on that.”
Bo Naylor, Josh’s younger brother, went into Saturday’s game hitting .333 with 10 runs, four homers and 10 RBI in his last 19 games.visited his Guardians’ teammates on Friday. Gose, under a minor league deal, is recovering from Tommy John surgery on his left elbow. He’s spent the season rehabbing at Cleveland’s spring training facility in Goodyear, Arizona. Gose, in town to get a sore lat muscle examined, said he should be ready for spring training next year. . .
