A man has been taken to hospital
The closure was put in place on Burnley Road East at around 9pm on Sunday evening . Police were called to the scene by North West Ambulance Service.
A man, in his 20s, had been found with a head injury. He was taken to Royal Preston Hospital for treatment.Officers closed the road between the junction with Turnpike and the Junction with Bacup Road due to what they described as a 'police incident'. At the time of the incident, Lancashire Police tweeted: "Good Evening, Please be advised Burnley Road East Rossendale is currently closed at the junction with Turnpike and the Junction with Bacup Road due to a police incident.The road remained closed overnight before reopening at 6.40am this morning. In a recent statement, the force said: "We were called by the Ambulance Service around 9pm yesterday to a report of a man with a head injury in Burnley Road East, Waterfoot.
