If Andy Farrell's men are beaten on Saturday and pick up no losing bonus points, then the Irish are in big trouble

Ireland know that if they beat Scotland this weekend that they will advance to the Rugby World Cup quarter-finals as Pool B winners.

The Springboks secured a bonus point just after half-time thanks to tries from Cobus Reinach, Canan Moodie, Deon Fourie and Jesse Kriel. Willie le Roux, Marco van Staden and Kwagga Smith added further scores as the Boks took their chances amid a spirited performance from the Tongans.

There is a scenario by which all three sides could finish on 14 or 15 points. In that case, the winner of the Pool would then be decided on points difference, with second place going to whichever team won the head-to-head between the two remaining sides. So, if Ireland top the group on points difference, South Africa will go through in second as they beat Scotland. If South Africa top the group, Scotland would go through as they would have beaten Ireland.
