Here is who Rutgers will be without for its meeting with Temple on Saturday night.
Brown, who missed his team’s season opener against Northwestern after sitting out the final five games of the 2022 season due to a foot injury, was listed as “questionable” last week after suffering a setback in his recovery during training camp, per Schiano. He warmed up prior to the meeting with the Wildcats and, per Schiano, could have “probably, in a pinch, gone,” but he did not play.
Brantley is dealing with an eligibility issue flagged by the NCAA, Schiano confirmed during the week. Schiano said he wasover the governing body’s decision to the point where one could “fry an egg on my head with that whole situation” following Sunday’s win over Northwestern. He withheld comment in his last two press conferences, noting the case is still under advisement.. “This is a kid who came here, who had a tragic compound fracture in his leg playing at another school. I’m at a loss.
Young was listed as out last week after “something just last in the week” came up. He missed eight games with injury during the 2022 season. Bailey left last week’s season opener against Northwestern in the first half and did not play in the second, racking up only 13 snaps. Schiano seemed optimistic he would be able to play against the Owls, but for now, that possibility remains in question.
