'Free drinks on me'
Greater Manchester’s Night Time Economy Adviser Sacha Lord has announced he is opening his wallet once again to pay for all drinks at a pub this weekend.
It’s one of the latest efforts from Sacha to help support the city-borough’s hospitality industry. Two years ago, he unveiled a city-wide happy hour to thank locals for their support of businesses during the pandemic. The move saw him foot the bill at venues like Adelphi Lads Club in Salford and The Crooked Man bar in Prestwich. Last year, Sacha also offered people the chance to ‘try and rinse me’ as he said he would pay for all food and drink at popular Chorlton restaurant The Thirsty Korean.
Unveiling his latest offer on social media on Tuesday night , Sacha posted: “Free Drinks on me. This Sunday, 4pm-5pm. Manchester. Venue announced Sunday morning.” Narrowing it down slightly, he responded to one follower who asked what the ‘generous’ offer was in celebration of, he teased it would be held at a community pub. He replied: “I'm not celebrating anything...I'm trying to save a community pub. Come along!”
