Samsung has announced the ViewFinity S9, a new 27-inch 5K display that it says is optimized for photographers.
. That monitor was also optimized for creatives with its promise of 98% coverage of the DCI-P3 color gamut, a matte display, and an “ergonomic design,” but it capped out at 4K resolution.
The ViewFinity S9 features a built-in Color Calibration Engine that Samsung says ensures precise screen color and brightness, which allows users to adjust white balance, Gamma, and RGB color balance for “perfect accuracy” when used in tandem with a creator’s smartphone via the Samsung Smart Calibration app. Just as was the case with the S8, the S9 features a matte display that Samsung says limits light reflection and glare for the purposes of minimizing distractions while working.
