San Diego County prepares to welcome Ukrainian refugees [Breaking]
San Diego County is preparing to welcome Ukrainian refugees displaced by the Russian invasion of their nation, the county announced Friday.
Those include military members, interpreters for the U.S. military and others who assisted the U.S. during two decades of occupation in the country and who are now at risk of reprisal by the Taliban, officials said. The county’s “Recognizing that the County may start receiving refugees from Ukraine, I want to be clear that we stand ready to continue to work with our Resettlement Agency partners to welcome them into our communities,” Fletcher said.
