Today was another hot one with temperatures in the mid 90s to low 100s for the inland areas. Tomorrow will be nearly as hot as temperatures continue to top out 5 to 15 degrees above average. A Heat Advisory remains in effect for the coast and inland valleys through 8pm Wednesday while an Excessive Heat Warning for the deserts has been extended until 8pm Wednesday.
While temperatures start to drop Thursday, they will remain above average becoming noticeably cooler Friday into the weekend as temperatures plummet 10 to 15 degrees! We'll see 70s and 80s return for most of the county. A late-season surge of monsoon moisture will bring a chance for pop-up showers and thunderstorms over the mountains and deserts tomorrow afternoon
We're also tracking Hurricane Ian, moving NNE as a Category 3 storm, expected to become a Category 4 hurricane overnight and will bring life-threatening storm surge up to 10 feet, hurricane-force winds over 100mph and feet of rainfall along the Gulf Coast of Florida tomorrow. Nearly the entire state will be impacted by rain and wind as the storm crosses Florida then turns north towards Georgia and the Carolinas as a Tropical Storm.
