A San Fernando police officer has been charged with a misdemeanor count of assault under the color of authority involving a man at a gas station last June, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced Tuesday.
Garibay responded last June 15 to a disturbance call at a gas station in the 1700 block of Truman Street in San Fernando and allegedly asked a man to leave the property, according to the District Attorney’s Office. San Fernando Police Department officials could not be reached for immediate comment on Garibay’s current status with the department.
