Jacobi Sanford, 26, was sentenced to two years in federal prison for having an assault rifle found during a traffics top in Oakland.
OAKLAND — A San Francisco man has been sentenced to two years in federal prison for possessing an assault rifle found in the front seat of a stolen vehicle during a traffic stop, court records show.
Sanford was arrested in July 2021 after a police surveillance team spotted him in an area of 82nd Avenue in Oakland that prosecutors described as a “meeting spot” for two Bay Area gangs. They found an AM-15 rifle inside a stolen Dodge Charger outfitted with a fraudulent license plate, and authorities allege the Charger was linked to several home burglaries, court records show.
