Authorities in San Francisco on Monday morning asked the public to avoid the area of 16th Street and Mission in the Mission District due to police activity.
SAN FRANCISCO -- The SFPD's Mission Station posted on social media about the activity at around 11:30 a.m. No specific details were provided about the nature of the activity. Additional details will be provided by authorities as they become available, the message said.
The activity at the busy intersection in the Mission also led the SFMTA to reroute several buses to Van Ness Avenue between 17th Street and 15th Street. Riders are advised to catch the 49 Van Ness, 14 Mission and 14R Mission buses at 18th and Mission or 15th and Mission.So far, there are no reports of BART service to the 16th Street Mission station being impacted.This is a breaking news story.
